Disney Shorts

WELCOME TO THE DISNEY SHORTS SECTION
(
December 21, 2007)

It all started with a mouse or so they say.
Before Mickey Mouse, there was Oswald the Rabbit and before that Alice traveled through Cartoonland, but actually everything started in Kansas City, Missouri, where Walt Disney founded Laugh-O-grams and created a handful of short cartoons for the Newman Theater.

In this “Quick guide” you find almost all Disney Shorts ever created, and they are listed in the order of their release date. Disney produced 120 Mickey Mouse cartoons, 128 Donald Duck cartoons, 75 Silly Symphony cartoons, 48 Pluto cartoons, 48 Goofy cartoons, 17 People and Places featurettes, 7 True-Life Adventure featurettes, and commercials, educational films, some especially created for Disneyland and EPCOT attractions, as well as other special cartoons and live action shorts.

Not included are the “military shorts”, since there will be an extra sub page later and at the moment those cartoons and shorts, that premiered as part of an TV-show like for example The Mickey Mouse Club, Mickey MouseWorks, or House of Mouse.

Since Disney purchased Pixar Animation Studios on May 05, 2006, all Pixar shorts are included, even those not produced or distributed by Disney, when they were first released.

NOTE: All Academy Awards with a * were presented to Walt Disney.
